Alpine Systems : Flightdeck Technology and Alpine
Flightdeck Technology take delivery of their new Alpine Systems
Flightdeck Technology based in Crawley West Sussex took delivery of 4 Alpine systems yesterday and both Clive and I seized the opportunity and visited them to see what they are all about.
On arriving and entering the building we were presented with a flight simmers dream!
Daren (Project manager at Flightdeck Technology) and good friend/volunteer Gray Brett duly showed Clive and I around their alladin's cave of 'Real' flightdecks being lovingly restored into fully working flight simulation models.
One of our systems will be installed into a Shorts 360 which is currently being restored and then shipped out for a commision in the United States. Our flagship Intel 'Quad' system is being integrated as the main computer in their VERY splendid full sized Boeing 737 cockpit!
Daren gave me the opportunity of flying the 737, with his expert help of course
,for a quick hop from Gatwick over to Luton ... The level of realism is a joy to behold and having been in many commercial sims .. I really could not tell the difference!!
Daren and his team have really pulled out the stops on this one and we were quite simply stunned by the sheer dedication devoted to this project!
The 737 sim is soon to be marketed as a corporate/commercial venture ... so I strongly suggest you keep an eye out on their website for further developments .... I thoroughly recommend you marking this one in your diary.
